Hazard 2014 - micro-festival of interventions, Word of Warning, Manchester/UK.

'DO TOUCH THE ARTWORK' is a participatory installation that plays with traditional signage in galleries and other art spaces which forbids the audience to touch, interact or even come close to the art works.

The piece presents a marked-off area of 100kg of dried beans surrounded by barrier tape. It offers a playground in the public sphere and invites the audience into the tactile, visual, auditory and very much aesthetic experience it is to handle the beans.

'DO TOUCH THE ARTWORK' allows visitors to take part in the creation of a constant changing piece of art. It aims to inspire break-out of routines and allows playfulness in everyday life, encourages attention to detail and sharing experiences with strangers. Within this frame, individualistic ideas face collective decisions, collaboration faces sabotage and individualism.

„My kid had a bit of a meltdown in the shop there, so we had to come back!“
